Technology is evolving rapidly, leading to changes that not all actors can implement quickly. One such area is the management of IT and telecommunications-based technology projects. It is necessary to move away from the traditional methodologies that have been applied so far in order to obtain greater results from these projects.
Project management is a discipline that focuses on the successful completion of projects, this can be achieved through the correct management of numerous factors. Among these factors are the project management team, the resources available, the time required, and the methodology applied. Each project is therefore unique, and its conditions may not adapt to a traditional methodology. Agile methodologies have grown to provide management solutions to projects that require a high degree of agility and flexibility, allowing maximum return on the investment made in the project.
The agile methodology is a methodological framework that aims to improve the efficiency in the production and quality of final products, it has the capacity to respond to changes in products and their definitions, and provide the greatest possible customer satisfaction, through early delivery and continuous feedback during product construction. This methodology brings several benefits, as it allows for greater flexibility than traditional methodologies because they are less able to adjust to changing customer and market needs and new technological challenges. They generate intrinsic value, improve the team's motivation and involvement in the project, save both costs and development time, provide a higher development pace and efficiency without any loss in the quality of the developed software product.
Thanks to this master's degree, students with undergraduate Computer Engineering degrees (or similar) will be able to continue to expand on their technical and professional skills, facilitating their access to the job market in positions requiring previous experience in project management and development, as is the case of ICT consultants. Upon the completion of this master's degree graduates will be capable of directing and managing the implementation of large technological projects.
